Studio policies are living agreements. They change as the studio grows, as teachers join or leave, as pricing evolves, and as the community learns what is fair. Software often treats policy as a static setting, which creates a familiar problem: the current rule overwrites the memory of what was true before.
Sangha resolves policy dynamically. That means the system can look at the person, offering, studio, date, role, and relevant overrides when a decision is needed. It can apply the right rule in the right context instead of copying defaults everywhere and hoping they stay accurate.
This matters for late cancels, workshop savings, role benefits, comped access, teacher privileges, and studio-specific exceptions. A policy that begins next month should not rewrite last month's payroll. A special agreement for one role should not leak into every student account. Effective dates and override paths keep the logic accountable.
Dynamic policy resolution also helps staff explain decisions. If a student asks why they were charged, why access was granted, or why a benefit applied, the answer should not depend on who remembers the old policy meeting. The system should be able to point to the rule, the version, and the inputs.
The best policies are both compassionate and clear. Sangha is built to support that balance by making rules flexible enough for real studios and explicit enough to preserve trust. A policy can evolve without becoming a mystery.
